Beckham set for Thanksgiving with US Army
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star David Beckham is set to spend four days with the US Army as part of a promotional tour over Thanksgiving. The England international and his Los Angeles Galaxy teammates will travel to Germany next Monday, where they will stay in US Barracks to show support for troops involved in the Afghanistan war, before playing a friendly against Bundesliga side Kaiserslautern. 25,000 tickets have been made available for free to US servicemen, Defence Department staff and their families as part of the festivities.
Beckham will return to the States following the trip before joining up with AC Milan for his second loan stint in Serie A. The veteran midfielder is hoping that a run of first team matches in Italy will be enough to persuade Fabio Capello to pick him for England’s World Cup squad next summer.
