Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly signed the appropiate paperwork to join Wembley as the second stadium representing the capital in the 2018 World Cup bid. Sport.co.uk previously reported from Sportspromedia.com that Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal were set to go head-to-head for the final spot as the companion for Wembley stadium, following the confirmation of plans for the Lilywhite's new stadium.

A source told the Daily Mail: "Arsenal have yet to sign up to the FA bid because some of the Fifa regulations are so open-ended and Arsenal's plc company want to know exactly what their contractual responsibilities would be before they put pen to paper."

Rumours suggest that Spurs have won the race to join Wembley Stadium as London's other venue for the 2018 World Cup fixtures. If England's bid is succesful the club which loses out  forfeit a number of lucrative big revenue opportunities.

It is however, still unclear whether Arsenal are looking to sign the appropiate paperwork to be considered as the other destination for London's World Cup bid. Earlier this week Arsenal manager was rumoured to be considering the offer of becoming the figurehead of the Football Association's 2018 World Cup bid.

'Absolutely rubbish news and again, the media are just making rubbish up again. Why not use established names like Old Trafford or even Liverpool's stadium (When it is built) as well as Emirates which are all recognised World brands? Spud supporting Media trying to gain attention is all that comes to mind.'

'So, Spurs new stadium (which hasn't even started to get built yet) will be in the World Cup in 2018 (which we probably won't get). Two non-stories colliding headlong to create an explosion of nothingness. Slow news day?'
