Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes Arsenal legend George Graham would be the ideal candidate to manage Scotland. The SFA recently sacked George Burley, and although a host of names have been linked with the vacant post, Graham’s name has not been near the top of those mentioned, much to the surprise of Ferguson.
Ferguson told The Mirror: “There has been about 37 names mentioned for the Scotland job - and what I'd like to know is why George Graham wasn't included,”
“Maybe George hasn't got the inclination to do it because I have seen him quoted saying the right job had passed him by.”
“I haven't spoken to George for a while, so I don't know what he's doing or his plans.”
“But he is a really good manager. He is strong, is disciplined and just the man Scotland need.”
