Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has confirmed that he has not reneged on his decision to leave the reigning Ligue 1 champions in the summer but has confirmed that there is time for him to change his mind. The Moroccan international is central to Laurent Blanc's attacking options at the Stade Chaban-Delmas and has impressed in his first outings in the Champions League notching on Tuesday night against Bayern Munich in a 2-0 win at the Allianz Arena. Linked heavily with Arsenal, Sunderland, West Ham United and Blackburn Rovers in the summer, the 25-year-old looks set for a move to the Premier League in the near future.
"I have decided at the moment that I am not going to sign a new contract, but that does not mean I will not be at Bordeaux next year," Chamakh told Sud-Ouest.
"I have seven to eight months to make the biggest decision of my life and I don't want to be rushed.
"The door is open for me to stay here and nobody is pushing me out.
"I will make sure I do the right thing for my life and my career."
