William Hill have dramatically slashed the odds on Harry Redknapp to leave Tottenham, amid a flurry of irregular betting patterns that saw an unusual amount of money placed on the former West Ham and Portsmouth manager to leave White Hart Lane. Redknapp’s initial odds in the sack race were a meagre 40/1, putting him alongside the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger at 50/1 in the Premier League. William Hill now have Redknapp at evens having once again slashed him from 5/1. He is now favourite ahead of Portsmouth’s Paul Hart (9/4) and Phil Brown of Hull City (3/1).
William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe said: “It is probably a bandwagon effect as ususal, based on unsubstantiated gossip, but in volatile markets of this nature you can’t afford to take a chance and we are being inundated with calls from punters wanting to bet that Harry will be the first to go.”
