According to a report the Sun, a Manchester City fan claims to have been pushed down the stairs by a Manchester United steward in the aftermath of the Premier League, Manchester Derby on September 20th.
City fan Peter Sweeney alleges he was left in agony in the street and only taken to hospital when a policeman found him covered in cuts and bruises.
Sweeney, who weighs just seven stone on account of a rare condition, suggests he was ejected from Old Trafford when found smoking in the toilets, but on attempting to sneak back into the ground, the 46-year-old was confronted by the same steward.
Sweeney is quoted by the Sun, saying: “I agreed to leave without a fuss,”
“But as we headed along the concourse he shoved me in the back three or four times with real aggression.”
“When I protested he told me he was entitled to 'use reasonable force'. With that he led me to the top of the stairs and pushed me straight down.”
He added: “I wasn't drunk. I'd had a pint and a half of Guinness but I can't drink more because of my condition.”
“This guy was nothing but a bully. He's there to protect the fans - not attack them. I'm lucky he didn't kill me.”
