Megson glad to be amongst the points
Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson was a relieved man after seeing his side seal a first win of the season with a 3-2 success at Portsmouth.Goals by Tamir Cohen, Matt Taylor and Gary Cahill gave the Trotters all three points at Fratton Park and moved Wanderers away from the foot of the table.
Megson said afterwards: "Only time will tell whether this game was a relegation battle.

"It was simply a matter of just getting something from the game for both teams. It was important that we got something and a bonus that we did score when we did.

"It was imperative because I'd argue that was the worst we've played this season. At times we looked overly anxious and at times we looked hesitant to do the positive thing.

"But we've scored three goals away from home, which we're pleased with. Portsmouth had the lion's share of possession and played the better football. But the chances we had over the course of the game were better than the ones Portsmouth had."
