Harry moves to avert 'keeper crisis
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has solved his goalkeeping crisis by bringing the former West Ham United shot-stopper Jimmy Walker to White Hart Lane. The 36-year-old, who has penned a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of this season, will provide cover for Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini.
Walker spent five seasons with the Hammers during which time he started 20 games for the club and was part of the team that won promotion to the Premier League in 2005.
He made his name at Walsall where he featured in almost 500 games during an 11-year spell with the club.
He was released by West Ham at the end of last season after spending three months on loan at Colchester United.
Redknapp had been linked with a move for Portsmouth shot-stopper David James but failed to lure the veteran England international to north London before the transfer window closed on Tuesday.
Gomes is currently sidelined with a thigh muscle injury while Cudicini has failed to impress in the Brazilian's absence.
