Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger denied this afternoon that he was ready to make a move for St. Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi. Speaking to the press ahead of the Gunners Champions League second leg play-off with Celtic, the French coach was asked flat out whether he was making a move for the highly-rated French under-21 midfielder.

"I deny that," was the stern response from Wenger.
