Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole to stop talking about his former club, in light of the England international’s latest comments that suggested he wanted to see Manchester City finish above the Gunners next season.

Speaking on TalkSport Radio, Wright said: “If he wants the backlash then carry on, does he need to do it, no, he does not.”

“He should just skirt round the issue and avoid the question, but for some reason Ashley has come out and said this and he really doesn’t need to.”

He added: “He left the club under controversial circumstances, and Ashley Cole remains a sensitive subject for Arsenal fans, so why does he do it?”

'He is just jealous that little Keiran Gibbs will be playing in the world cup next year and not him. Batty boy Cashley is a joke. He should be concentrating on regaining his form which he hasn't had for two years before he starts to get left on the bench and rot, hopefully.'
