Mancini could be stopped from taking new job
Roberto Mancini wants to speak to Portsmouth about their vacant managerial position but a contract dispute with former club Inter could stop him taking over at Fratton Park, according to his agent. The Italian has been out of work since leaving the Serie A champions a year ago, but is still on the payroll at the San Siro.Until Mancini resolves the dispute with Inter - 'not an easy task', according to Maurizio De Giorgis - he cannot take a new job.
But De Giorgis admits the 44-year-old would speak to Portsmouth about becoming their new manager
"We haven't had any propositions from any club yet, but Roberto will speak to any English club that has a project for the future," said De Giorgis.
"It doesn't have to be one of the 'Fabulous Four', but it has to be a club with ambition and the desire to win something.
"Inter have to call the shots first, though. It depends mostly on them."
