The Ateltico Madrid president, Enrique Cerezo, has revealed the club have not received any offers for the former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan, despite reputed interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Speaking to Marca, Cerezo said: “Florentino Perez has not asked me about Forlan, nor has Joan Laporta, and if you want confirmation, ask them."

"We are not studying any offers, but I want you to know that players play where they want to play,

“Diego has two years left on his contract and if he wants to play with us, he will do so, if not there will have to be a better offer, but I stand by the contract.”

“We do not want to sell any players, we want to win titles and Forlan is in our plans. Therefore, we have not received any offers and nobody is for sale, as I always say. Atletico always buy, although now with less money.”

Forlan scored 32 league goals this season winning his second Golden boot in four years, following a disappointing spell in England. Forlan managed just 10 gaols in 77 games for Manchester United.
