Chelsea star: I love Arsenal
Chelsea’s Nicolas Anelka has revealed he did not celebrate his goal against Arsenal last Sunday, because he still loves his old club.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, the French international said: “I still love the club, the people, even if they think I don’t love them,”
He added: “It is normal I don’t celebrate.”
The Frenchman scored against Arsenal at the Emirates in his side’s 4-1 win. Anelka left Arsenal in 1999 to join Real Madrid for £22.3 million. He scored 23 goals in 65 appearances for the North London based club.
Anelka has 17 league goals this season, one behind Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and he suggested he had not given up on the Golden Boot.
“Of course, I will try to do my best to score one more than him because now we don’t play anymore to be champions I can think about this.”
