According to reports in Italy, AC Milan are stepping up their interest in Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor and are looking to raise the requisite cash for an attractive offer.

Il Corriere dello Sport claims that rosonerri manager Carlo Ancelotti has drawn up an attacking master plan for next season and that 25-year-old Adebayor takes pride of place on the list of potential recruits.

The San Siro side made enquiries last summer as to the availability of the Togo international but were not given permission by Arsene Wenger to contact the player himself. As it turned out Adebayor extended his contract with the Premier League club sealing a big-money deal that keeps him in North London until 2012.

Having been valued at £30m at the end of last season, the lanky hitman’s value appears to have decreased with injuries and form affecting his ability in front of goal. Adebayor hit the back of the net 30 times last term but has managed only 12 goals in all appearances, behind teammate Robin van Persie and level with Danish youngster Nicklas Bendtner.
