Dynamo Kiev’s Artem Milevsky could be the subject of a big-money bid in the summer after the player’s agent revealed he would be open to an opportunity to develop his game in Britain with Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Glasgow Rangers all thought to interested. The 24-year-old Ukrainian international, who netted his first international goals last month, has been favourably compared in his homeland to Inter Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his physical strength and tight ball control.

Milevsky who has been a mainstay in Dynamo’s Champions League campaign played twice against Arsenal in the group stages and was widely praised for his performances. Expected to line up against England at Wembley next week, Dennis Lachter, Milevsky’s agent, spoke exclusively to sport.co.uk and revealed he expects his client and many others from the Ukraine to make a big impact in the future

“Milevsky’s a great player and there is interest in Britain.

“He and the other attacking players in the Ukraine national team will cause problems for any team in the world. They are not new kids on the block.

“Ukraine football is on the rise, Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kiev play regularly in the Champions League and both are in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup this season.

Speaking about the increase in player traffic between Eastern Europe and England, Lachter continued:

“There’s a lot players moving between the Ukraine and the top European leagues. We’re talking about Elano at Manchester City, Yaya Toure at Barcelona.”

“Russia and Ukraine have given a lot to the Premier League in the last 3-5 years. Vidic, Skrtel, Pavlyuchenko, Arshavin have all made the move. I believe this new generation of Ukrainians and Russians could be much more successful than Rebrov, Shevchenko and Luzhny.

“There is a new generation, a new mentality and new culture. They are much more easy-going professionals; they are no longer hidden from the public. All of them have very bright futures.”
