Arsenal's newest midfielder Andrey Arshavin will only show his true potential next season once he is fully fit, according to his agent Dennis Lachter. The Russian international has been in sparkling form in recent weeks having adapted to the speed and physicality of the Premier League and demonstrated his true quality for the Gunners with a sumptuous solo strike in his side's 4-0 victory over Blackburn earlier in the month.

Speaking exclusively to sport.co.uk, Lachter stated, “Andrey will be a real diamond next season. Physically he is only at 60% at the moment.

“Next season everybody will see and understand the true Arshavin. You’ve seen nothing yet.

“Arsene [Wenger] understands this; it’s why he was so desperate to make the signing. He struggled hard against Zenit to get his man. People are now starting to realise why Arsene was so keen to get him for Arsenal, Andrey has class.

“It’s definitely possible he’ll spend the rest of his career at Arsenal…but I can tell you now already several of the biggest clubs in the world already want him in the summer!

“It’s true that Manchester City and Liverpool tried to get him on deadline day, but that is in the past now. He loves Arsenal it was his first choice.”
