Emmanuel Eboue may have suffered a traumatic first-half of the season at Arsenal but his popularity in Italy is undiminished. Reports in the Italian media report that top Serie A sides Juventus and Inter Milan could be set to lock-horns in the summer as they battle for the versatile Ivorian.
Sportmediaset.it claim that the 25-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and that his situation and performances are being monitored by both Jose Mourinho and Claudio Ranieri.
Eboue started life at Arsenal in the right-back position but has since been transformed into a midfielder. Described by Wenger earlier in the season as a ‘pass-master’, the former Beveren player has been utilised on both wings making use of his pace and dribbling ability to decent effect.
The Ivorian has been the subject of intense speculation since the end of last year when he was booed from the field at the Emirates after a terrible substitute appearance against Wigan. It is thought that despite publicly stating his desire to prove his detractors wrong his position at Arsenal could be under threat following the arrival of Andrei Arshavin and the return to fitness of Theo Walcott and Tomas Rosicky.
