Speculation is mounting that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will launch a stunning bid for Manchester United’s loan striker Carlos Tevez.

The Daily Mirror reports that the Gunners boss has pinpointed the Argentine as the perfect man to take the North London club to the next level. Currently valued at around £30m the Frenchman could make a club record bid in the summer.

24-year-old Tevez moved to Old Trafford on a two year loan deal 18 months ago, however, with the player moving down the pecking order behind Bulgarian hitman Dimitar Berbatov it is thought he could move south.

Real Madrid were reported to have shown interest in the former Hammer but have since spend big money on Dutch international Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Tevez, who is currently in Japan with United, will discuss his future with adviser Kia Joorabchian, who is an executive box holder at the Emirates, when he returns next week.

'If ever Arsenal needed a player for January then Tevez should be a consideration. He is the type of player Arsenal needed most desperately at the moment. Our young players are to brittle and they are like young and raw recruits. They needed badly a 'Dirty Harry' character to show them the ropes and to give them the guts to win rough and tough matches. Tevez is ideal because he fights like a Pit Bull and looks like a British Bulldog. He can also play real dirty too. He has all the qualities that Arsenal is lacking as a team. He will be what Eric Cantona is to Manchester United for Arsenal. Buy him if he is affordable because he will take Arsenal to the next higher level in the League. '

'Fergie doesn't have a say in where Tevez goes. He is only on loan. If Tevez wants to show how p**sed he is with Fergie there is no better way to do it than to move to the Emirates. '

'Fortunately I can't see Fergie letting go of a gem that easily, specially with the way that joke of a striker, Berbatov, is playing. May be Arsenal would like to buy Berbatov at a christmas discount offer.... I have a dreeeeam.'

'Wow, some toff splashed out on a catchy domain name and fills it with this garbage! This is a shameful excuse for a news site. I hate football news, it's so, so, so bad.'
