New Real Madrid boss Juande Ramos is ready to lure Arsenal targets Xabi Alonso and Daniel De Rossit to the Bernabeau according to reports in Spain and Italy. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been following the progress of Daniel De Rossi of Roma, sending Chief Scout Steve Rowley to watch the player on a number of occasions, while the Frenchman has been a keen admirer of Alonso for some time.

Wenger launched a last minute deadline day offer for Liverpool's Xabi Alonso which was rejected by Rafa Benitez as it didn't their valuation for the Euro 2008 winner. Ramos is in desperate need of midfield reinforcements following the season long injury to Mahamadou Diarra and the poor form of Guti and Fernando Gago.

Daniel De Rossi has been openly courted by Real Madrid for the last year, with Predrag Mijatovic travelling to Rome to meet the player two weeks ago. It is unlikely Wenger will be drawn into a bidding war for the Italian, however the Frenchman may make another offer to Liverpool for Alonso's services. The Spaniard has been in fine form this year and would suit Wenger's passing style of football.

'Ramos can Alonso. I hope Wenger spends some cash on De Rossi. He is exactly what we need. '
