A host of European clubs led by Spurs and Fulham are lining up bids for Hamburg’s Croatian international Ivica Olic. The diminutive striker has been in sterling form for Martin Jol’s side scoring 23 goals in 52 appearances since his move last year.
This season the Croat has helped Hamburg to 5th place in the Bundesliga and through to the knockout stages of the Uefa Cup.
Olic made a name for himself at Dynamo Zagreb, the same club that produced Eduardo and Luka Modric, and consolidated his sharp-shooting reputation in a four year spell at CSKA Moscow.Premier League fans will remember the striker for his goal and man-of-the-match performance against Steve McLaren’s England at Wembley.
Olic's agent is quoted as saying this week that:
"No decision has been made about Ivica's future and that we will decide his future around Christmas time.
"Maybe Juventus are interested and perhaps they are discussing this among themselves but I have not heard anything."
Villareal are known to have joined the Italian giants in registering interest with the 29-year-old’s agent but it is also thought that Premier League clubs Spurs, Fulham and Aston Villa are tracking the experienced fox in the box.
