Captain Andrew Gale believes several members of the England Lions can stake a claim for a place in the full squad with successful tours to the Middle East.
Gale will lead the Lions in four Twenty20 matches against the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan A before a interesting game against the full England side in Abu Dhabi.
The World Twenty20 kicks-off in April and it will give the second-string the opportunity to impress the selectors.
"It's a great opportunity for us to test our skills. And we want to go out there and beat England," Gale told ECBtv before jetting off to the Gulf state.
"It's also an opportunity to stake a claim for the full England side, with a World Cup coming up in April and May.
"So all the players will be looking to throw their name in the hat for that."
