Shane Mosley is reportedly involved in talks with pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao but is confident a proposed fight will go ahead on May 7 next year.
The 39-year-old revealed his representatives are close to reaching an agreement with advisors acting on behalf of 'Pacman' and that big-fight fans can expect an announcement soon.
"We've already discussed the fight about three, four weeks ago, so now we'll go over it again," Mosley is quoted by the newspaper.
"Both sides just need to commit to what we've talked about and then I think we're done."
Many observers felt three-weight former world champion 'Sugar' had reached the end of the line when he was outclassed by unbeaten superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr in Las Vegas in May this year. A split draw with countryman Sergio Mora in September at the Staples Centre did little to win over new fans.
Filipino icon Pacquiao was expected to fight Mayweather Jr on March 13 in Dallas this year but a row over random drugs testing meant their 2010 blockbuster was shelved.
