Ricky Hatton is reportedly set to call time on his career despite recently suggesting that he was ready to launch a comeback.
The 31-year-old Mancunian was expected to fight Juan Manuel Marquez in a summer comeback, but is now believed to have had a change of heart after making a tentative return to training.
Hatton, a two-time IBF and IBO light welterweight champion, has been out of action since being knocked out in the second round by Manny Pacquiao in May 2009.
He had successfully rebuilt his career following his only other previous defeat to Floyd Mayweather in December 2007.
However, he now looks set to call time on his 47-fight career which stretches back to 1997. Hatton is expected to confirm his decision to retire at a press conference next week.
