Khan fight could be postponed
Amir Khan's world title fight against Andreas Kotelnik could be postponed due to a tooth infection currently troubling the Ukrainian fighter. The 22-year-old Bolton fighter is due to meet WBA light-welterweight champion Kotelnik in his first world title challenge, in London on June 27.
However, Germany-based Kotelnik is struggling to be fit and could have to postpone or pull out of the fight altogether.
If Kotelnik is unable to fight, promoter Frank Warren will either postpone the bout for several weeks or seek an alternative opponent.
A spokesman for Warren said: "We're just waiting to find out from [Kotelnik's] German promoters how severe it is and whether it is going to be delayed or if he can still go ahead on the 27th. We're still waiting to find that out.
"If he can't then it will be postponed or Frank will look at another option.
"We're looking at a couple of things but if we can still go ahead on the 27th with another opponent [we will], or just postpone it and hopefully it will still be Kotelnik but in a few weeks' time.
"Frank is working on it this weekend and we should know something on Monday or Tuesday."
