James undergoes surgery
Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James has undergone a five-hour operation to remove a benign growth from his jaw.The 24-year-old was voted the league's MVP after helping the Cavs to 66 regular-season victories and a second Central Division title.James has been troubled by the problem for some time but has now had tissue removed from the parotid gland, which helps to produce saliva.
The Cavaliers released a statement saying doctors were "pleased with the outcome of the procedure, and at this time, are confident that no further treatment will be needed as LeBron is expected to make a full and complete recovery."
