World indoor 60m champion Dwain Chambers is hoping that his success in Doha will help his acceptance back in the highest echelons of the sport.

The 31-year-old served a two-year drug suspension earlier on in his career and is still banned from competing for GB at the Olympics, but hopes to be allowed to compete in Diamond League meetings in the future.

He told BBC Sport: "I've just got to be patient and put out a good enough time that will hopefully warrant an invitation.

"I have to concentrate on the races I can participate in. We are working on building bridges and relationships.

"Firstly we're building a more positive relationship with UK Athletics and once we can do that then hopefully other opportunities will develop.

"One thing I know I can do is run fast and I just have to do the best I can with the opportunities I have.

"I'm running well, but I've realised that what I've always had I almost lost. That is why it means so much to me every time I run.

"I want to make use of all the time I've got in the sport. My next objective is to make the team for the European Championships in Barcelona."
