World champion Jessica Ennis won pentathlon gold at the World Indoor Championships in Doha.

The 24-year-old was in imperious form throughout the event, leading from the first discipline to the last and eventually finishing with an impressive 4,937 points.

Olympic champion Nataliya Dobrynska finished second while Russian Tatyana Chernova was third.

Ennis won the 60m hurdles and high jump before a second-placed finish in the 800m sealed her success.

Elsewhere, controversial 31-year-old Dwain Chambers reached the 60m final with a superb time of 6.51s but Harry Aikines Aryeetey pulled up with injury in his semi.

The 21-year-old former world junior champion did not even finish the race after appearing to be suffering from cramp after just 20 metres.
