Pierce fires Celtics past the Clippers

Paul Pierce scored 22 points, including a clinching 3-point basket in the final seconds as the Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Clippers 106-104 on Sunday in the NBA.

Jeff Green and Leandro Barbosa scored 14 points each for Boston while Jason Terry contributed 13 points and six assists while Kevin Garnett added 12 points as the Celtics stretched their win streak to four games.

The Clippers suffered their sixth loss in eight games despite 23 points and 10 assists from Eric Bledsoe while Blake Griffin chipped in with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Jamal Crawford, who played despite a broken nose, added 23 points and Caron Butler had 18 in a losing cause.

Clippers star guard Chris Paul is out with a bruised right kneecap while the Celtics have lost star point guard Rajon Rondo for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
