The Formula One paddock rolls into Monza for the Italian Grand Prix this weekend.

Here, Press Association Sport compiles the best statistics and trivia ahead of round 12.

+ Sebastian Vettel could make history if he wins on Sunday. The German would become only the second driver to triumph at Monza with three different teams after winning in 2008 with Toro Rosso and Red Bull in 2011 and 2013. Sir Stirling tasted victory in 1956, 1957 and 1959 with Maserati, Vanwall and Rob Walker Racing respectively .

+ Vettel is also due to become Formula One's all-time leading points scorer. The four-time champion, tied on 1778 points apiece with Fernando Alonso, was set to move ahead of the Spaniard at Spa before his penultimate lap tyre blow-out.

+ Lewis Hamilton roared to victory at the Belgian Grand Prix to leave him on course for his third world title, and he won in Monza last season. But a driver has not won back-to-back races at the famous Italian track since Damon Hill did so for Williams in 1993 and 1994.

+ Hamilton is also bidding for his 19th front-row start which is five shy of Ayrton Senna's record. Mercedes, meanwhile, are hoping to seal their 23rd consecutive pole. Williams hold the record with 24.

+ Eight of the last 10 winners in Italy have started from the front of the pack.

+ The future of the Italian Grand Prix at cash-strapped Monza is in doubt, but no venue has hosted more Formula One races. This weekend's race will be the 65th of its glorious history.

+ Monza is also the venue for the fastest lap on the calendar. Michael Schumacher completed the fastest race in 2003 with an average speed of 153mph.
