A British man has been jailed for six weeks after invading the track during September's Singapore Grand Prix.
The Straits Times reported that 27-year-old Yogvitam Pravin Dhokia has been handed the sentence having been charged with committing a rash act when he intruded onto the Marina Bay circuit.
A safety car was deployed on lap 37 after Dhokia jumped over the barrier on the approach to turn 13 before darting in front of eventual race-winner Sebastian Vettel as the Ferrari driver reached 180mph.
He then casually wandered on the opposing side of the circuit unopposed for 53 seconds before finding a gap in the fence and leaving the track.
Dhokia pleaded guilty to the charge and the Straits Times reported the public prosecutor said the Briton knew the risks of breaching the perimeter fence but did so to take a video of the cars speeding past.
Vettel, who claimed his third victory of the season under the lights, was the first driver to see the track invader. He yelled over the team radio: ''There is a fan on the track. There is a fan on the track.''
Explaining the scene in his post-race press conference, Vettel said: ''I had to look again because I wasn't sure whether I had a problem with my eyesight or I saw somebody crossing the track.
"I went on the radio and said, 'Some guy's running across the track'. I think I saw him taking a picture. I don't know. I hope it was a good one at least. I hope it was in focus."
Earlier this season a man invaded the track during practice in China before entering the pits, saying he wanted to drive one of the cars.
