One of the greatest players in the history of the Atlanta Braves, Chipper Jones, will be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame and his shirt number will be retired on June 28, Major League Baseball announced on Twitter.
The Tweet said "The @Braves will induct @RealCJ10 into Braves Hall of Fame and retire his number on June 28."
Jones replied soon after thanking his team: Thx to the Braves for giving me the honor of retiring my number and induction into the Braves hall of fame. Mom and dad made it happen. XO
He won many accolades during this career:
No. 1 overall pick in the 1990 MLB draft.
Second in Rookie of the Year voting in 1995
1995 World Series (beating the Cleveland Indians in 6 games)
1999 MVP
Top 10 in MVP voting in five of six seasons from 1996 to 2001
Led all of baseball with a .364 batting average in 2008.
