Jason Dufner will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the CareerBuilder Challenge in California as he moved to 23 under thanks to his third-round 64.

The 2013 PGA Championship winner struck 10 birdies, including seven in his final nine holes, on the La Quinta course and is two shots clear of Jamie Lovemark.

Lovemark is on 21 under after his 65 on the Stadium Course contained seven birdies and no bogeys and he will hope to overhaul Dufner in tomorrow's final round.

Canada's Adam Hadwin is a further shot back, and three behind Dufner, after his 64 on the Tournament Course.

The Tournament Course was proving profitable as Sweden's Davind Lingmerth and America's Kevin Na both 10-under-par shot 62 on there to be the biggest movers of the day.

Lingmerth struck eight birdies, including five in a row, and an eagle while Na finished his round with six birdies and an eagle to surge up the leaderboard.

Phil Mickelson shot a 66 on the Stadium Course but he is probably out of contention on 17 under while Martin Laird is Britain's highest placed performer, in tied 48th on 10 under.
