Zlatan on his way to Anfield with cut-price deal

With PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisting that Edinson Cavani is not for sale it seems that Liverpool could complete a ‘cut-price £18.1 million transfer’ for the 33-year-old great.

The report in the Metro claims that Rodgers has been considering the player with boosting his attacking options high on the agenda for the summer.

Responding to reports which suggest that Cavani will be sold in the summer he told Le Parisien:

‘Edinson Cavani is a player I really like,’

‘I can tell you that he is very much with us, and the question of his departure has not arisen. Paris loves him and he loves Paris.’

The Metro believe that the owners silence regarding Zlatan is something to make a noise about.

What seems to have ignited this transfer rumour is the fact that the strikers contract is due to expire at the end of next season with PSG keen to get a cash return before the player retires.

The Swedish striker has made 104 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, his 7th senior club after spells at Milan, Barcelona, Internazionale, Juventus, Ajax and Malmo.
