Cameron McGeehan stunner sinks Chairboys

Cameron McGeehan's wonder goal earned Luton a vital 1-0 victory against Wycombe and extended their all-time unbeaten run at Adams Park to 11 visits.

McGeehan's long-range winner came five minutes before half-time after his side had soaked up relentless pressure from the home side.

The Hatters had golden opportunities to extend their lead in the second half as Craig Mackail-Smith, Jack Marriott and Paul Benson all spurned decent chances, but Chairboys debutant Ryan Allsop performed well in goal.

Luton also weathered a late offensive surge from Gareth Ainsworth's men to take all three points.

The only goal of the game came via an expertly-looped half-volley over Allsop from 25 yards.

The Hatters had a host of chances in the second half and were unlucky not to see their opponents down to 10 men on the hour when Jason McCarthy hauled down Alex Lawless.

The Chairboys are winless at home in 2016, while Nathan Jones' second win as Luton boss sets them up for the trip to AFC Wimbledon next Saturday.
