Manchester City it seems are looking to make positive steps to enliven their squad in the summer with a number of names linked with moves to the Etihad.

The Premier League champions have struggled this term and have been linked with a number of English stars including Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Paul Pogba and now Jack Wilshere. A report in the Mail states that these are considered realistic targets with Arsenal and City doing plenty of business over the past five years.

Wilshere has been out of action since November after having surgery on a left ankle injury which has itself seeded doubt over the deal from City but they may well consider the risk is worth it given his qualities and age. The England midfielder is still only 23-years-old and Arsenal will only entertain bids in the region of £30m which will likely mean that City will have to sell before they can entertain their full wishlist.

It has long been the case that City need to find a long term solution in midfield with Toure nearing the end of his career. City will need to find more quality in midfield to supply his strikers and a combination Henderson, Sterling, Pogba and Wilshere could provide an intriguing combination.

Wilshere is considered one of the finest English players of his generation and has been admired for his vision, passing and movement which has brought comparisons with a more Spanish style of play. The midfielder joined the youth squad of Arsenal in 2001, making his senior debut in 2008.

The midfielder has made 148 appearances for Arsenal scored 11 goals so far in his Arsenal career.

The report states that both Nasri and Dzeko have has poor seasons and are expected to be sold to fund an overhaul in the middle of the park.
