West Ham forward targets Europe

West Ham striker Andy Carroll believes that the club can push for a European spot this season. Sam Allardyce has silenced his critics this season, after calls for him to lose be sacked towards the end of the last campaign.

The Hammers 2-1 win over champions Manchester City further underlines the improvements made, and Carroll thinks European football is a real possibility:

"I think we can push for Europe. We're playing fantastically and I cannot wait to be a part of that," the 25-year-old told the club website.

"I think all the lads are positive about that and I know the gaffer is too.

The gaffer has signed some great players and we're showing the quality we've got with the goals we're scoring - that's why we are where we are in the league."

The 2 year-old is currently side-lined with an injury, and with the form of Sakho and Valencia, two of the team’s new signings, he may struggle to find his place again in the starting 11 once he returns. They will be hoping their good run of form continues when they entertain Stoke City on Saturday.
