Walsall likely to be without Eoghan O'Connell for Oxford clash

Walsall are likely to still be without Celtic loanee Eoghan O'Connell for the clash against Oxford as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury.

The centre-back, who has missed the last two games, was expected to be out for three weeks having suffered the problem last month.

Youngsters Tobias Hayles-Docherty and Mitch Candlin could remain in the squad with Candlin having been handed his debut in the 1-0 defeat at Bradford last week but Erhun Oztumer (knee) is out.

Florent Cuvelier (hamstring) and Reece Flanagan (dislocated shoulder) remain out for Jon Whitney's side.

Oxford have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip.

Ryan Ledson was dropped for their 3-1 home defeat against Fleetwood and could return to the starting line-up.

Striker Kane Hemmings is also pushing for a recall while defender Christian Ribeiro was not included in the matchday squad last time out but is in contention.

West Ham loanee Toni Martinez may feature after returning to the bench in their previous fixture.
