Jon Whitney to stick with youth for Walsall's clash with MK Dons

Walsall boss Jon Whitney is expected to keep faith with some of the club's youngsters ahead of their final game of the season against MK Dons.

Tobias Hayles-Docherty made his debut in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Port Vale while teenagers Mitchell Candlin and Kory Roberts also featured.

Eoghan O'Connell is back after suspension but Scunthorpe loanee Scott Laird will not feature having been told by Whitney he wants to give others a chance.

Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge (hamstring) and midfielder Reece Flanagan (shoulder) were ruled out of the run-in weeks ago.

A hand full of players could be making their final appearance for the Dons at the Banks's Stadium on Sunday.

Goalkeeper David Martin, midfielder Darren Potter and forward Dean Bowditch have already been told by manager Robbie Neilson that they will be allowed to leave the club in the summer - and others could follow next week.

The likes of Giorgio Rasulo, Callum Brittain, Ben Tilney and Brandon Thomas-Asante could be given a chance to impress but Neilson will be keen to hold on to a top-half finish with the Dons heading into the match in 12th place in the table.

Defender Scott Wootton remains out for the Dons while he continues to recover from the serious knee injury which has kept him out for most of the season.
