Jon Whitney could make changes to Saddlers team

Walsall have no new problems as they prepare for the visit of struggling Chesterfield.

Saddlers boss Jon Whitney has plenty of options should he wish to make any changes to his team, with the likes of Scott Laird, George Dobson, Will Randall, Amadou Bakayoko and former Spireite loan player Franck Moussa all available.

Reece Flanagan is building up his fitness again following a dislocated shoulder, having only just recovered from a serious knee injury which had kept him out for the whole of the season.

Fellow midfielder Florent Cuvelier has been ruled out until April with a calf injury.

Jon Nolan (hamstring) and Dion Donohue are getting closer to full fitness after injuries and at least one of them could be back in the Chesterfield squad on Tuesday night.

Further good news on the injury front for the Spireites sees Paul McGinn (hamstring) back in full training. It is unclear whether it is too soon for him to return to contention at the Banks's Stadium but it is hoped the defender will be available for the majority of the remaining 12 matches.

Another substitute appearance on Saturday means striker Ched Evans is closer to starting a game, following his ankle issues.

Tom Anderson may be recalled in defence after the 4-0 home defeat to Oxford as Caldwell continues to look for his first win since taking charge, with Chesterfield now eight points from safety.
