Reports in the Sun newspaper this morning suggest that Manchester United are confident of gaining the signature of Sami Khedira in the summer transfer window.

The midfielder who has a contract due to expire in the summer would be free to organise a pre-contract agreement at any time and the report suggests he is willing to accept personal terms of £150,000-a-week to make the deal happen.

Arsenal and Liverpool have both been linked with moves for the 28-year-old German World Cup winner but it seems that United are in an advanced stage to land the defensive midfielder with a move firmly on the cards according to the Sun.

Khedira launched his senior career at VfB Stuttgart before joining Real Madrid in 2010. The 6’2” midfielder is known for having great aerial ability and tackling skills with a powerful mid-range shot. He has made a total of 161 appearances for Real and scored 9 goals.

He has won just about every gong going including Bundesliga, La Liga, Champions League and of course a World Cup winners medal. The player is understood to have Champions League football as a priority for the club he next joins.
