Unconvincing performance from Arsenal

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal got a last minute winner against Crystal Palace in a game that could easily have gone either way. The only players that performed good in Arsenal were the defenders Debuchy, Chambers and Koscielny, and the team’s attacking coordination seemed to be lacking creativity, and harmless against a well standing Palace defence.

Arteta’s role continues being essential in the team’s scaffolding, while Wilshere’s effectiveness leave space for doubts, his running with the ball is good, but his through passes didn't reach his team mates as one would wish. Ramsey’s stamina contrasted with his un-accurate under pressure passing, and Santi Cazorla was unbelievably unable to control balls with his back against opposition goal, lost many balls, and performed awfully.

The midfield performing lead to a miffed Sanogo, who got contact with the ball in a very little number of occasions, and an uncomfortable Sanchez was obligated to run open and crossing, not his best ability, because he was to tight marked when trying to face the goal on the center of the field. When he moved to the left side, after Oxlade Chamberlain ingress, he looked a little better, and got to pass the ball more accurately. Chamberlain was clearly an opening piece for Arsenal, and his contribution helped his team performance.

Arsenal seems to have a lot of work left to do to assemble a competitive eleven for fighting the title, and certainly Walcott, Ozil and Rosicky should become important pieces if Cazorla, Ramsey and Wilshere don’t pull their levels up.
