The latest gossip and rumours from the newspapers and online:

Incoming Manchester City boss PEP GUARDIOLA will splash the cash when he takes over in June, with the Guardian reporting that he will be given £150million to spend. JOHN STONES and PAUL POGBA are both early targets, says the Daily Mail, while the Sun claims that a massive £120million deal is being lined up for LIONEL MESSI.

REMI GARDE is ready to walk away from Aston Villa at the end of the season, according to the Daily Star. The Frenchman is unhappy after the Premier League basement boys failed to get any of his January transfer targets, leaving an uphill struggle in their fight for safety.

Manchester United tried to make a deadline-day swoop for Arsenal's MATHIEU DEBUCHY. The France defender moved to Bordeaux as the Daily Mirror report that Arsene Wenger blocked a transfer to one of the Gunners' Premier League rivals.

West Brom were so intent on denying SAIDO BERAHINO a move away that they rejected a £24million bid from Newcastle, writes the Daily Mirror. The Magpies offered the cash up front but Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace was not swayed.

Qatar side Al Arabi could be the destination for outgoing Chelsea skipper JOHN TERRY. The defender is leaving his boyhood club in the summer and the Daily Mirror reports that talks have already begun with Al Arabi, who are managed by Gianfranco Zola. However, the Telegraph report that Terry could contemplate a move to China, which would earn him a staggering £20million.
