Tony Pulis set to discuss transfer plans with owners in China next week

West Brom boss Tony Pulis is hoping to finalise his transfer plans when he travels to China for talks with the owners next week.

The Baggies have secured a top 10 finish in the Premier League - the first in Pulis' managerial career - this season.

Albion go to Swansea for their final game on Sunday before Pulis flies to the Far East to sit down with owner Guochuan Lai, who bought the club last summer.

Pulis has previously spoken about wanting to take the club to the next level and will talk with his bosses to discover where the Baggies stand.

He said: "The most important thing is going to China on Monday and having a meeting with the Chinese and Mr Lai and finding out exactly what they've got and their views going forward.

"That's very important. We'll have a good discussion about what we think will be available and costs. It will be a good couple of days hopefully.

"There's lots of agents of players enjoying a bit of publicity and throwing players at different clubs. We've got bucket loads of suggestions from agents about who we should be signing and not signing.

"We'll trawl through it. We've spent a lot of money on the recruitment side."

And Pulis wants to end the season on a high after an eight-match winless run - including six defeats - cost the Baggies a chance of a record points tally in the Premier League.

He added: "The results have been disappointing but apart from maybe one or two, I think the players have given everything and have been a little bit unfortunate not to get anything.

"We could still finish eighth with that win which would be an absolutely fantastic achievement for this club, the players, and everybody associated with the football side."

Matt Phillips is likely to be out with a hamstring injury while Gareth McAuley is a doubt with a knee problem.
