The Liverpool striker crisis could soon be over and put to bed as a move for AC Milan and former Man City striker Mario Balotelli seems to be done and dusted according to various sources including AC Milan's own TV channel.

On Wednesday it was reported by Italian news outlet Sport Mediaset that Liverpool had tabled a €22 million (£17.5m) offer for the controversial striker, who spent three years with Premier League outfit Manchester City.

AC Milan's in-house TV station - confirmed on Thursday morning that talks are now ongoing with Liverpool regarding the "outright sale of Mario Balotelli", and an official club statement said the player is "involved in a negotiation."

Reliable twitter source DiMarzio backed these claims tweeting "Liverpool and Milan have reached an agreement. Balotelli has started packing. Could be his last day as an AC Milan player"

Since making his league debut for Milan in 2013, no player has scored more Serie A goals than Mario Balotelli (26)
