John Terry has opened up the prospect of a move to Major League Soccer, although the Chelsea captain wishes to finish his career at Stamford Bridge.
The 34-year-old this season won his fourth Premier League title, playing every minute of the 38 games for Jose Mourinho's side.
His friend and former Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard now moves to MLS with New York City, while Liverpool's Steven Gerrard is joining Los Angeles Galaxy, and Terry has not altogether ruled out a trans-Atlatic switch to the United States.
"I would love to finish my career at Chelsea and maybe there is a time when I look to go to play in America or whatever might be best for my family at the time," Terry told TalkSPORT.
"Hopefully I have a couple of years left at least. I always thought I could get to age of 35 and still (be) playing and I am getting close to that now."
This season saw the first trophies of Mourinho's second spell won, with the Blues also winning the Capital One Cup.
The Portuguese won two league titles in his first spell, from June 2004 to September 2007, with the core of the team staying together for the best part of a decade and also winning the 2012 Champions League.
Terry believes the current squad, and the youth players coming through the Chelsea ranks, is capable of surpassing those achievements.
He added: "Looking at this squad now, I think this squad has the potential to do a lot more than we did in the past, well beyond my playing days."
One of the key players is Player of the Year Eden Hazard, who has signed a contract extension until 2020 and is valued at £200million by Mourinho.
The Portuguese's valuation came after comments from Zinedine Zidane which led to suggestions of an approach from Real Madrid, but Hazard has no desire to leave and wants to win the European Cup for Chelsea.
"If you're happy and things are going really well at one place, there is no need to change," Hazard said in the London Evening Standard.
"Obviously, these things don't just depend on me but whenever you're enjoying your football and having the chance to win trophies, it would be silly to change.
"The Champions League is the one thing missing from my career.
"The top, top players have all won it. So if I want to be considered in that upper, upper level of top players I need to win the Champions League at some point.
"It is something as a club I think we can do and we have to always dream of.
"I have imagined that feeling of what it would be like to lift the trophy. Let's hope we get a chance to do it."
