Spurs to offer Lennon as bate to capture penalty bad-boy

Reports in the Mirror suggest that Spurs are plotting to bring penalty bad-boy Kevin Mirallas to White Hart Lane and that they are looking to bundle Aaron Lennon as part-exchange.

The Toffee wide-man has just 18-months remaining on his contract but Roberto Martinez is desperate to keep hold of the player despite the storm surrounding his insistence on taking a penalty that would normally be taken by penalty regular Leighton Baines.

Mauricio Pochettino is keen to offload 27-year-old Lennon says the report who himself has just a year and a half remaining on his contract at White Hart Lane. The report claims that Lennon is happy to move to Goodison Park and that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy prefers a swap plus cash deal rather than spending big. A cash bid could prove very expensive for Spurs with Atletico Madrid also interested in a piece of Kevin Mirallas which could push the price up significantly.

The Belgium international was brought to Everton in 2012 where he has made 74 appearances and scored 19 times in the league. The winger has played at Lille, Saint-Etienne and Olympiacos so far in his senior career after playing as a youth at Standard Liege.

Martinez is said to be philosophical about the penalty situation with Mirallas being in good form and with previous penalty taking experience.
