New boy Theo Robinson could make second Southend debut

Theo Robinson is expected to go straight into the Southend squad for the visit of Scunthorpe following the striker's deadline-day move from Lincoln.

Winger Jermaine McGlashan is available again after suspension, but defender Anton Ferdinand (hamstring) will be assessed.

Centre-back Ryan Inniss, on loan from Crystal Palace, has been cleared to return to full training following a dislocated shoulder and goalkeeper Mark Oxley (elbow) is also stepping up his rehabilitation.

Striker David Mooney (ankle) and winger Stephen McLaughlin (ankle) remain sidelined, while forward Nile Ranger is also unavailable.

Scunthorpe boss Graham Alexander will not risk striker Paddy Madden who is still battling to recover from his latest groin problem.

Jordan Clarke is also definitely ruled out with an ankle injury, while David Mirfin is closing in on a first-team return following a foot injury.

Conor Townsend returned from injury when he was named on the bench for last week's win over Port Vale and could be in contention for a starting place.

Otherwise Alexander is expecting a clean bill of health as the Iron look to maintain their push for an automatic promotion place.
