Swanson worry for Posh

Peterborough will check on Danny Swanson ahead of the trip to relegation-haunted Shrewsbury.

Swanson is still struggling with the ankle injury he sustained against Coventry on April 12 and the midfielder is likely to remain sidelined for a third game, giving manager Darren Ferguson an unchanged squad to choose from.

Defender Shaun Brisley will complete a two-match suspension while the likes of Mark Little, Jack Payne, Joe Newell, Tommy Rowe, Nicky Ajose and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing are pushing for recalls after Ferguson made seven changes against Carlisle on Monday.

Victory will guarantee Posh a play-off spot.

Shrewsbury manager Mike Jackson should have no fresh injury concerns.

The Shrews find themselves six points behind 20th-placed Crewe with only two games left, but with a better goal difference, and will need to put an end to a run of three successive defeats if they are to achieve a near impossible task.

Midfielder David McAllister (ankle) is Jackson's only notable absentee while Paul Parry and Tom Eaves, both half-time substitutes during Monday's heavy defeat at Preston, will be hoping for recalls to the starting XI.

Defender Jermaine Grandison has not featured since last month after picking up a hamstring injury against at Carlisle.
