Shrewsbury could have Joe Riley back in contention for Coventry's visit

Shrewsbury could have Joe Riley back in contention as they look to continue their climb towards League One safety against bottom club Coventry.

Riley has missed the last two matches with a hamstring injury. He trained on Thursday and if the right-back can train again on Friday without a reaction then he will be back in the squad at the weekend.

Striker Stefan Payne continues to regain his fitness after a foot injury and he too might be involved against the Sky Blues.

Defender Olly Lancashire is still trying to recover from a calf complaint while Shrews captain Abu Ogogo has missed the last four games with a knee injury.

Coventry could add midfielder Ruben Lameiras to their squad following his recovery from a concussion.

Gael Bigirimana was overlooked against Swindon and Bury and he is another option for manager Russell Slade.

Fellow striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni suffered a hamstring injury in the home defeat to Swindon last weekend and he will remain out.

Coventry are 14 points from safety and without an away win in the league since October 1 but will play Oxford in the EFL Trophy final at Wembley in a month's time.
