It appears the Saints really are marching in (pairs) as Southampton managerial revelation Ronald Koeman and Italian striker Graziano Pelle have been awarded the Barclays Premier League Manager & Player of the month awards for September following the clubs 100% winning record for the month.
Former Feyenoord FC boss Koeman was the clear winner for the managerial award with an almost unanimous sweep of votes from that Barclays Panel - a group made up of media, football administrators, ex-players and football experts.
The Barclays Player of the Month award was a much closer affair with Pelle just edging promoted Leicester's record signing Leonardo Ulloa by a single vote. Fine margins indeed!
Koeman lead Southampton to three wins from three games against Newcastle, Swansea and QPR during September. Whilst Pelle scored three goals during the month including that spectacular overhead kick against Queens Park Rangers.
